KAJE Relaunches As 107.3 The Bull

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/186417/kaje-relaunches-as-107-3-the-bull/

ICA Radio has flipped Classic Country “My Country 107.3” KAJE Ingleside/Corpus Christi to Country “107.3 The Bull“.

The station soft-launched in late March with 10,000 songs commercial free and will fully debut on Monday, May 4. Former “K99” 99.1 KRYS-FM morning co-host Coco has been tabbed to host middays from 9am to 2pm. She worked at KRYS from 2008-2018.

KBSO 94.7 also has changed, now calling themselves US 94.7 with talk and country.

Changes to KAJE should have been done a long time ago. The ratings have gone from a 1.6 two years ago to a 0.8 now. This station has a good signal, and has had a lot of potential, but has never amounted to anything. How long were they going to wait? Until the station has no ratings at all? I wouldn't just modify the same format and re-brand it again, I would have flipped to something completely different. They likely don't have the budget to compete with the other two Country stations(especially KRYS), and it would be nice to hear something fresh and new in this market. It's good that they finally woke up, but this is not the answer.

ICA Radio has a Mainstream CHR that wobbles around a 4.0, and the only Classic Rocker in town that holds a 3.0. Definitely room for improvement.

They have 5 stations in Odessa-Midland that are ALL under-performing as well. Perhaps they are just tax write-offs.

I question whether they're even in this business to compete. Just give it a college try, huh? Make things interesting?

Corpus is a rapidly growing city, with cool things to do, but the radio there is quite boring.
