KAKC - LP

This one may go back to the first LPFM window. It is a mystery to me. When I found something interesting among LPFM stations online, I usually printed it or wrote a note if it was just a short bit of info. I wrote a note.

The note says "
KAKC-LP, Country music 24/7 pushing music. Underwriting in 10 sec. units played one at a time. 100 per month for $125, maximum 30 accounts."

I never noted the town or state and other data like dial position. I cannot remember where the station was (and it wasn't Tulsa).

Can anyone solve my mystery station?

I have not searched through this for KAKC-LP, but if you are looking for defunct LPFMs the LPFMdatabase website is a nice resource, with listings of cancelled and never-built stations.

Also a good site for updates on current LPFMs and new stations.

I have actually looked through these and no KAKC. I'm wondering if they changed call letters at some point or if the station used the call letters but they weren't assigned (example WOAI-2 for a San Antonio AM that was assigned, I think, KSJL).

Michelle's site lists KAKC as only having previously been at 970 in Tulsa (and currently at Tulsa's 1300).

Growing up mostly in Tulsa, I remember stories about the Rockin' 97 but never really got to enjoy it myself. It went away a year or two after we arrived, though I do remember picking up a bumper sticker for "Country Gospel 970 KAKC" when I was in either preschool or kindergarten.

Couldn't find any KAKC-LP's anywhere I looked, though.

Don't think I ever listened to the station but somebody did a nice Underwriting piece that got my attention to the point I made a note:

KAKC-LPFM
