I noticed that 88.5 KALA has a construction permit to go from a 100 watt class A station to a 10,000 watt class C3.

That should give them a bit more coverage in the QCA.

Also noticed that the 107.9 LPFM in the Quad Cities has a construction permit to move just south of the Quad Cities and change frequencies to 107.7.

They needed the increase. I used to listen to the spanish programmes on the station when I drove through, it would drop out for long periods of time and then come back. Go0d for them.

My mistake... the station on 107.7 is a new LPFM, also licensed to Davenport.

A few other findings...

91.1: 20kw construction permit for a station licensed to Bettendorf. Owned by the University of Northern Iowa
97.9: Curious to see that the Illinois Bible Institute had an app for a translator in Bettendorf. Too bad it didn't cover much of the Quad Cities. The IBI stations in Illinois kick some major butt!
104.5: Clear Channel had an app for a translator here... wonder what that would be for...

Translator at 104.5? that is curious.
FM Repeater of WOC maybe?
104.3 would seem a better fit due to
the current second and third adjacent channel rules.

Good. This means KFMW will once again be heard in the Quad Cities!

Sorry to burst your bubble...but my mistake. There will be TWO LPFM's licensed to Davenport. One on 107.7 and also the current one on 107.9

Rock 108 is a great station though!!! I feel your pain man!

As awesome as KFMW's coverage is, it was even more amazing before the FCC allowed encroachment in 3 of their 4 directions.

Remember their Legal ID during the CHR days? "FM 108 is KFMW - Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Dubuque." That was no exaggeration, either. They hit all 4 markets with a strong signal. Plus the Quad Cities, Mason City and Des Moines with a fringe (car radio) signal.
