KAMA

While flipping through the dial Saturday I noticed that the RDS on KAMA reads "104.9 Tu Musica". On air liners also say the same. That was a quick switch from "Amor". What happened?

I was about to comment the same thing. It seems that they dropped the "Amor" name. It makes sense since the name is more of a "Musica Romantica/ Spanish Contemporary" format.

Format is still the same, but this makes you wonder, will this station be the start of a new concept from Univision and will it start replacing all of the "La Kalle" formats around the US? mhhh, stay tuned Dallas, S.F., Chicago, New York, Fresno.

Well the Univision website still has it as Amor 104.9!

Yeah but what about the top page? It says Houston> Amor 104.9

Appearantly the webmaster overlooked that. Either way 104.9 is no longer Amor, regardless of what the website says

so was Amor a mistake? So are they still going to keep that format?

The Kalles in Fresno, Dallas, Fresno, SF and Chicago have been moving to a more pop mix for over a year, just as the music market has.

NY is still called Kalle, but is a New York tropical hit station anchored by Luis Jimenez in the morning and the station is built around them, just as Miami's Kalle is built around Enrique & Joe.

104.9 dropped the Amor on about the 10th of this month and is now 104.9... Tu Musica.

The latest ratings show a 1.9 For KAMA compared to 0.4 last month. What do yall think?? And KLOL is still the top spanish station in Houston
