KAMJ new programming?

KAJM 104.3/99.3 (Mega) is now calling themselves the best of yesterdays old skool and todays r&B. They have added alot more currents to the playlist. Moving closer to a true Urban AC. Not sure when this came into effect. Also heard the signal improvement could happen this summer, and its much needed!

KAJM's signal improvement will definitely help listeners on the west side, where the 99.3 translator won't be needed anymore. However, in the East Valley, it will be like the other stations already broadcasting from Towers Mountain, but a bit more prone to interference (since it will be a Class C0 as opposed to the other Towers signals which are full C's). Maybe the plan will be to turn 99.3 into a KNRJ translator, unless it will eventually shut off if Kemp is successful in moving KMZQ-Payson closer to the Phoenix metro.I don't think the upgrade to KAJM will be completed until late summer, when they should have a construction permit for their most recent non-directional application.

I am loving the new programming on Mega. Its so great to have a r&b station here in the valley. I love the old skool stuff mixed in with some of todays r&B. I wonder if they would be interested in picking up any syndicated programming. Whoopi Golberg will be getting her own morning show come July and they have the pickings of Steve Harvey and Tom Joyner for am drive and Wendy Williams for pm drive. I wouldn't mind hearing the Whoopi show come July.

I will vote to keep Alex & Cedric for the morning team.....by far the best one in the valley IMHO, and they keep it real- local, and upbeat. I do not want some syndicated morning drive show replacing local flavor and talent. Local radio keeps it real, some far away show piped in just doesnt cut it.... good presentation of the new format too. :)

It is good news to hear the Valley finally has some r&b radio again which was way overdue. Add Michael Baisden to the list of possible syndicated product. But I would like to see local programming on Mega instead of syndicated product. Any word if they plan on having gospel programming on Sunday mornings?
