KANR/Wichita Sold

Given the owners also own a cattle operation, country looks likely, though Wichita's oversaturated with country. I can't see the regional Mexican format lasting. As I understand, the station's been leased to those operators. I suspect the new owners won't renew the deal and will change it the first chance they get.

Based on the new owner's other interests, I would guess country or Christian. I have no idea why they paid so much for one station, or why they want to get into the business in the first place.

Wichita's only other Spanish-language station is KYQQ, and as far as I know, that station has been on a low-power STA for a few years since an ice storm toppled the tower.

Agreed. How MANY Country stations does one market need? Plus, the signal's core is south of Wichita. I know this is Kansas and Country is the dominant genre, but seriously, you have KFDI, KFTI, KZSN, KVWF, KSOK, KWLS, and the outlying stations such as KHUT. So far, I have 7 stations listed here. Don't you have enough???? ;D

...and it now looks like it will be AC as "Lite 99.7." B98, get ready for some competition!

I've thought KRBB has sounded pretty lousy for at least the last 15 years. Hopefully, this will be a good thing. KANR has apparently hired the GM who launched B-98 in '89 to run the station.
