I wonder if it's a precursor to a "Free" format flip... Note that 102.1's call letters have flipped, as well as the URLs of two potential websites with links to two FM frequencies have been registered. Interesting timing...
______________

What makes even less sense is that "Carter Broadcast Group" has registered 1033freefm.com. Carter owns KPRS 103.3 in Kansas City. Could CBS be syndicating out the entire Free FM brand as a package (like Jack)?

Additionally, an article in the Kansas City Star (at http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/entertainment/13823838.htm) talks about one host, George Woods, who was expected to move to a talk format on 102.1 Free FM. But he states in the article that he will be starting somewhere on March 6th.

In addition, Jim Cramer's new "Real Money" show on CBS Radio, originally slated to begin last week, has a new launch date.

That's right - March 6. Same as George Woods' alleged new start date.

The press release doesn't list KCKC, but you can bet that us "radio insiders" will be on top of this story.
______________

I'd love to say I started the Free FM domain buzz back in October, when I made a post about a suspicious pirate ship/Golden Gate Bridge scene at 1069freefm.com (which was online for only an hour) on the San Francisco board. It started a set of posts and blog entries around the internet that eventually made it to R&R and All Access, the obvious rumor being that Infinity would relaunch FM talkers as Free FM.

I'd doubt that it was my post specifically, but it would be cool if it were.
