Kansas Tornadoes

  • Thread starter JOHNNY on the RADIO
  • Start date

As far as I know, there were no Wichita stations knocked off for any significant length of time. The main transmitter farm is located northwest of town, and the tornado tracked through the south and east areas of town. I think 100.5 is about the only station with a transmitter around there, and it's actually to the east of town about halfway between Augusta and Wichita.

I'm not sure about outstate Kansas as there were definitely tornadoes outside of Wichita, too.

KJIL Christian radio in Kansas was doing live Coverage on Saturday during the storms into the night.. with warnings (not just EAS but on air talent actually on air) and updates both on air and online via twitter / Facebook.
