KANY-FM

What I meant...how is the reception around the Puget sound area? Can you hear it along Elliot Bay in Seattle? Tacoma? or Everett?

Actually, KANY is moving to South Mountain (Where KDDS-FM and KOMO-FM are at). They have their construction permit, but have not made the move yet.

CJJR dominates from here down the Puget Sound to around south of Seattle, then KANY comes in weakly. Doesn't start really coming in until you get to McCleary, Elma etc.

I am located in the Tacoma area, and I cant seem to get much from KANY. I believe you begin to loose their signal in the Olympia area. Does anyone know when CJJR typically should take over the 93.7 frequency if I was to drive north?

Also, on a side note, would the move to south mountain negatively affect coverage for CJJR?

CJJR starts showing up (sometimes blending with KANY) on downtown Seattle hilltops and progressively gets steadier as you head north. By the time you're in Everett, they're almost rock solid, and near perfect in Mount Vernon and city grade in Bellingham.

They once said they were the most listened to Canadian station south of the border. And there's some truth to it, I have heard them playing on radios around the NW Washington area, although I can't remember how recently I last heard them.....

CJJR would likely lose the spotty coverage they have in Seattle when KANY moves, although how far north is a tossup......

Because there isn't any other country stations in the area, KAPS 660 is on the AM and most people listen to music is on the FM dial. So your pick for country music is JR-FM 93.7 or static radio stations from KMPS 94.1 and 100.7 THE WOLF.

K271AH (102.1) Camano simulcasts KAPS, which is the closest NW Washington has to an actual FM country station. But the signal (and programming) are really crummy and most would happily put up with the static and noise from Seattle or the CanCon from CJJR than have to listen to K271AH......

I hope KANY doesn't move.. I have been trying to pick up CJJR from my house in Gig Harbour for quite some time, and the KANY signal from Aberdeen makes it difficult. I dont know about you folks, but does moving to south mountain really achieve their main objective of covering Aberdeen? I feel if they move to south mountain they will loose coverage in Aberdeen and gain no more listener-ship in the Puget Sound area..
