Kaplan-ism

B97 has been around for almost 30 years. And in all that time the station has NEVER been called "the mighty bee" until Mike became the director. It drives me so crazy to hear that. Sure its been referred to as "The bee" but never has the word "mighty" been put in there.

What's the point? It sounds so stupid. I hope since Jammer took over, that "Kaplanism" will cease!! ;)

Interesting you mention this because I thought no one had noticed it before. Pre-Katrina when I was at B-97, we periodically ran station liners or sweepers that reffered to us as "The MIGHTY B" and it drove me insane. I cringe when I hear that everytime, and you are correct about it never being said. I'm 29 years old and grew up listening to the B. I can't remember them ever referring to B-97 as a "Mighty B." Ask people who've been on the station before like Beebe, Cajun Ken Cooper, Bo Walker, Bazoo, etc. They'd probably say the same thing. I will testify and say its got to be a Kaplanism. ;D
