Karen Minton's final day

Today on 2/27/2019 Karen Minton will end her 33 year career at WSB TV and go into retirement. I have been watching the features on channel 2 over the impact Karen has had at wsb the time she was plucked from the weather channel in 1986. They mentioned the blizzard of 1993 but at that point David Chandley was hired as the third meteorologist so while Karen and Glenn worked 12 hour shifts David had to work during that storm. I know with David jumping ship when Ken Cook retired Wsb probably wants to not mention that. But they did mention that Karen was the first female meteorologist in the market. But I wonder if Rebecca Erwin was a close second and Terri Smith was also 1988.

I'm sure they're looking for someone who can fill out a dress like she did! She always looked like she had been partying all night and just decided to stop in at 4:30 AM and do the weather for us.

To me, one of her classic lines came on a morning in the autumn one year. It was in the mid-40's, and she was commiserating with the homeless dwellers downtown. She said, "It is bitter out there!"

40º? That's bitter?
