Got this e-mail from Christi this morning. I had a feeling that this day would come since I haven't had a check-in in awhile and with the last one her speech was a little slurred.
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that Karen Raegan passed away on Saturday. Her mom Sharon called me this morning to let me know. Karen may have been a little annoying and sometimes we didn't have time to talk to her very long but we were a spark of joy in her life. Her mom said she wanted us all to know how important we made her feel and how much it meant to her and her husband that we would take the time to talk to her even if it was just a "check in."
Karen was very claustrophobic so they decided to have her cremated and keep her there at home with them. They have not decided if they are going to have any services or not because Karen didn't like anyone to make a fuss over her and didn't even like funerals when she was here because she said it made her feel old. She hated the idea of being old.
Please keep her family in your thoughts.
