Just wondering if anyone knows when this show will start. I would have thought this week sometime but not sure and no mention on their website.

I would think next week at the earliest. Powell is still doing his KDUS show.

Karie isn't doing a sports show. She and Powell are doing general talk on 92.3 FM. But... it is a crying shame that Asher is all-but-gone.

KTAR has been promoting Karie & Chuck by having short commercials where they talk about their background.

I haven't heard exactly what the format of their show will be.

I'm glad that KTAR made this move. When I moved to Phoenix in 2000, KTAR was Live, Local, First with Heywood, Leibowitz, Femino, Westmoreland and the Sportsline. Nice that they have in-studio programs throughout the day.

And they still have Pat McBland interviewing civic leaders of the 80s ;D After a while, Beck..Limbaugh..Hannity..Savage, et al, blend together into mindless mush. By dropping the syndicated soundalikes, KT'R will sound not only fresher, but more relevant to a younger audience. A tip of the fez to TMISU for making this move. ...now if they could only do something about their Jurassic link to the pre-historic time they were on Osborn!

It's hard to take an on-air talent seriously when they can't decide who they are and/or who they want to be.
Is Chuck the "Sports Guy?" Or is he the "Morning Comedian?"
And now he's the "Talk Radio Host?"

C'mon...pick a style and go with it! It's impossible to be all things, to all audiences. Sports & mornings lend themselves to light-hearted BS topics...he can't be funny when serious folks are listening to talk radio.

Especially in this industry's current climate, it's important to be able to play deep and broad if you want to work. Re-invention is a survival technique.

---Michael Hagerty (KTVK news reporter/anchor 1986-2000; KTAR talk show host 2000-2004; Producer/Host of Autoshow on KAZT 2002-2008; Traffic anchor/reporter ABC15 2009-2011)

Well said, Michael. If Chuck can pull off sports, or general talk, or just beeing kinda goofy, more power to him. I find him likeable and entertaining on the air. Those qualities are in short supply.
