Karlson and McKenzie coming back to Boston???

Hey All -

I hear a couple stations in Boston might be looking for a morning show.

Well how about this rumor...

Here in the Hudson Valley of New York, rumor has it that Karlson and McKenzie are headed back to Boston...possibly to WZLX...or maybe a replacement for WBCN when Stern leaves his schtick.

Why did this rumor start? Karlson and McKenzie, who just led WPDH to a #1 book in Spring 2005, are gone from the station. This is NOT a stunt so don't start with that. Adevertisers have already been informed of the departure. Look at www.karlsonandmckenzie.com. There's some proof. Need more? Look at www.wpdh.com. They still have their bio pics up, but the link to their bios is gone. Plus any other mention of them on the site is gone.

And people in the radio circles here in NY say they left on their own...not pushed out. Boston has been the rumor of where they are headed. Would make sense.

Your thoughts?

Let's just say it's more than a rumor. They've already signed with, well, a specific station, and will be starting... um, at a later date. I'd really love to spill the beans, but I just can't...

Ive heard theyre not very good, I've only heard their show a few times and was not impressed. Say what you will about Sweeney, he may not have been a radio guy but he is as local as it gets and he knows the city like the back of his hand, culturally i mean.

I listened to the show on WPDH and I thought is was pretty good. It was funny. This sucks, because now I can't listen to them. <P ID="signature">______________

They're going to ZLX

The former WEGQ morning show will be the new WZLX morning show.

Which eliminates Roth from that equation.

Plus, I'm hearing "Kidd Chris" for WBCN mornings...but simulcast from another East Coast city (rumored to be Philly)

Kidd Chris is currently working within Infinity in San Antonio, and is an FCC fine-a-day waiting to happen.

Good Luck!

If Karlson and McKenzie can work well with modern rock, they should replace Howard Stern on WBCN-104.1, and the team of Abbate and Hutch should stay at WZLX-100.7!

More local, less syndication!
