KASB: All EAS, all the time

For the last several hours, the only thing I have heard on KASB 89.9 from Bellevue is the EAS system chirping over and over. Occasionally there is a split second of programming as it restarts itself. The dangers of automated and unattended programming. Oh well, they come back to school on Monday, right? Until then, keep it classy, KASB.

How is a 60 watt, Class D radio station (and a high school one at that) an EAS station?

When I was heading to Yakima on 4/07, I heard EAS tones over and over on 89.9 in the Bellevue area. I think the EAS machine is malfunctioning.

Well, I sure as hell hope they got that fixed. It would be a nervous summer for Bellevue if it weren't!

All Licensed Radio Stations Are Required by the FCC To Install And Use An EAS system at their facility.
