Reports are CUMULUS/ATLANTA is set to launch AC JOURNEY 97.9, with former COX WSRV-FM on-air goddess KATE MCCARTHY as middays featuring "The new 98 @ 9 now on 97.9". Says close friend of MCCARTHY who spoke to ALL ACCESS on a voice disguiser and wished to remain anonymous: "I'm proud of Kate and this is her chance to truly shine outside the shadow of her mentor Jordan Graye", who also noted that MCCARTHY would be voicetracking the shift due to another work commitment. According to CUMULUS VP/Market Manager CHRIS MURRAY, sliding into the afternoon slot at JOURNEY 97.9 is MCKELLY COY. "McKelly Coy is a name almost synonymous with 'just the right mix of your in-office work favorites plus today's music so you can listen longer'. And he will remind listeners at nearly every break that "Journey 97.9 plays 98 minutes of music every weekday morning at nine. It's the 98 @ 9 now on 97.9" said MURRAY.

I dispute one fact. Jordan was not her mentor just a worthy cometitor who was better at office politics and stayed around when the more talented McCarthy was let go.
