Katherine Maher named as the next CEO of NPR

It's an interesting choice, because Wikimedia is also a non-profit organization, so she knows that world very well.

The technology part of it could cause her problems if the affiliates feel NPR is competing with them.
 
Great, just what they need running NPR: A bean counter who ran a crowd-sourced online information portal whose reliability shifts like the wind.
 
I occasionally look at it but have never used it as a source - even in high school 20+ years ago when Wikipedia was brand new, teachers told us we couldn't use it for a source when writing a paper, because anyone could edit it.
