Katherine Phillips Hughes (A World Apart), 65, remembered....

Hughes was the daughter of the late soap opera creator/writer Irna Phillips. A World Apart was Hughes' creation, ironically mirroring the story of a soap opera creator and her 2 adopted children, and ran on ABC in 1970-1971. Notably, one of Susan Sarandon's first acting roles (the adopted daughter) was on the show.
