KATHY & JUDY AIR FINAL SHOW ON WGN RADIO

Racine Radio Head said:
Hmm I thought I read on DRUDGE last month that Obama was killing the PPM off because the PPM was unfairly targeting minority and urban stations.
Guess not, party on. ;)

That article re-appeared this morning on the Dick Morris website.

Couldn't hit the top 25 in ratings ::)

Anoother victim of the PPM ? :D

It looks that way.

No mystery to me.

In trying to find a talk home once Manboy grabbed the WLS late morning slot, I gave them a try. The first time, K & J lasted from Schaumburg to Lombard before I hurried on down to Dennis Miller on WIND. Second try, I tuned them in around Naperville and made it with them to about Itasca before my shaking finger hit the memory button for 560.

Their show MUST be a slowly acquired taste because to me it was horrible radio. A couple of oversexed wannabe Golden Girls cackling like hens. A dreadful listen. Imagine how hard my jaw hit the floor upon finding out that WGN/Tribune Corp. was paying them $400k each! I'm still drinking dinner through a straw!! ::) ;D ::)

At least now I have somewhere local to go for talk between 9 and 11 am. Good riddance.

K & J making $400K each?
No wonder the Tribune & WGN are in trouble.

Yes, some of the media reports indicated that it was at least that much. Some reports said it was closer to $500 k. Incredible!

Give me half of K's salary, a monkey, and an organ grinder and I'll crank out a daily show that's easily twice as entertaining! :D ;D :D ;D

Clearly I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time. ::)

It seems alot to me for a midday show, but if they were bringing in the ad revenue then it's different.

Apparently, they were not bringing in the dough (at least enough of it) - as evidenced by WGN's move. And remember that my figure was cited as the pay for EACH of them! They didn't split it. So, it was quite an expensive show for them.

What I heard on their show was an example of "less for (a lot) more" if ever I experienced one.

I think they were overpaid.

Will be interesting to see what happens with folks who are still making a good buck salaries.
I'm looking at Roe Conn, how he's so popular I don't know. He's about as interesting to listen to as Kathy and Judy for this 29 year old male.

Bring on the PPM Bama. :D

I like Roe, but you make a good point about salaries.
