Katie profiles Stern Tues.

Well, after 60min-CBS on Sunday, Howard and Sirius gets NBC-Today attention, on Tuesday.

Will it be live (and as a result, simulcast on Stern's radio show on the East Coast)??

I'm sure Barbara Walters (or maybe Diane Sawyer) will also get to sit down with him in the days to come.

You're sure of this or are you just ASSuming...once again?

What makes you think Babs or Diane even care about Stern?

Re: Stern on 60 Minutes

I’m not a regular Stern listener to his radio show but I did enjoy his movie “Private Parts” and was impressed with Stern’s interview with Ed Bradley.

The 60 Minutes audience got to see a different side of Stern. Underneath the radio persona is a person who is still very insecure, even though he’s achieved fame many in broadcasting could only dream of.

To his credit Stern is honest when answering questions about statements he’s made on his radio show and the need to treat his staff better.

I’m still skeptical about the future of satellite radio, but my opinion of Stern has changed after watching the 60 minutes interview. I wish Howard the best of luck.

oh they care on the view talking about him

Two reasons:

(1) Howard Stern is a major celebrity. That's why he's talked to David Letterman, Ed Bradley and Katie Couric. That's why he'll probably talk to either Walters or Sawyer (among many others).

(2) Howard Stern and Sirius satellite radio are also looking for as much free publicity as possible in advance of his big move. Hence, he'll be all over the TV dial in the next few days as part of the PR push.

Bill O'Reilly too.

His interview with Stern must have already been taped and must have run nearly two hours, given that it will be split-up into two parts on his Fox News Channel interview show (Wednesday and Thurssday, December 7th and 8th, at 8 P.M. EST).

Bill O'Reilly's show and "The View" are not news programs. So, we shouldn't be even comparing these two to ABC News' programming and newsmagazines.

Also, just because Stern and Sirius are looking for "free PR" doesn't mean that ABC News has to help Stern and Sirius out. It WAS news when it was first announced almost a year ago. Now, it's just like "yeah, we know...you've got a few weeks left Howard...yeah, OK...we know: 'get your friends and relatives Sirius subscriptions and hardware for Christmas."

Yawn. Freaking jumpship.

It'll be news again IF Sirius is struggling and the jump isn't what Stern and Sirius anticipated.

If for some reason Stern's jump to Siruis does not being the anticipated jump in subscribers and the company ends up struggling financially, it will be much bigger news that Stern's decision to go to Siruis. It would also open the floodgates for speculation about whether satellite radio itself would have much of a future.

He was also on Larry King Live. Bill O'Reiley has an upcoming profile on him. I taped part one of Today's segment this morning. Part two airs tomorrow. Katie talked to Howard in his new studio at Sirius(the segment was pre-taped as I understand). I wonder how many of the news channels and if any of the "big three" will cover the planned "parade" from KROCK to the Siruis studios following Howard's final sign-off in the 16th? He's also scheduled to make an appearence on SNL the 17th. But not as host. I think Jack Black be the host and Neil Young will be the musical guest. I've heard that Yahoo will be covering everything on the 16th.<P ID="signature">______________
