Katie visits Lake County, Florida....

..and shows up at a neighborhood devastated by tornadoes....and there she is, walking around tons of debris..glass. wires..tie down straps...in open toed shoes...with heels no less...

During the first six minutes of the CBS Evening News, she is right next to reporter Byron Pitts...who describes in detail,..and within her earshot... the agony, the heroics..and the fact that the town of Paisley has been completely destroyed....they throw it to another reporter in Eastern Florida who describes a similar situation...and also clearly mentioning the the town of Paisley has been destroyed...

Back to Katie with Governor Charlie Crist at her side...her second question:

"Governor...have any of the towns hit by this storm been completely destroyed?"

Just had to share that with you folks...

She was suppost to do the news from Miami for the Super Bowl on Friday. I guess since the story was relatively close by...

Don't know the stylebook they are using, but when I was working the newsroom the term "destroyed" meant completeness. "Completely destroyed" is a redundancy that was always edited to just "destroyed." There is no "partially destroyed."
 
Anybody see Katie's new hairdo at the Super Bowl?
Either the rain ruined Katie's hair and this was the best they could do.
Or CBS is going for the Mary Hart look on the Evening News.

Is Mary Hart still on the air? Man she has to be eligible for AARP by now. I'm surprised that a youth-oriented program like "Entertainment Tonight" would keep some one her age on the show.
 
Hart does regularly appear on ET - I'm not sure exactly who the regular hosts are, because I don't watch frequently enough. I think maybe Kevin Frazier has replaced Mark Steinem...
