Katy Perry - Waking Up In Vegas dance mix

Nick maybe you should get some training how to construct a track before asking for critiques...dude it was hard to listen to....playin around on your computer is fun and all but I hope you really understand how bad it is.

Good luck on bein a new 21 year old radio geek as you expressed in another thread but leave the remixing to those that know what they're doing...or ask for help ...someone may take mercy onj your soul and on my ears....lol

Well ...... .. .. . ....

I, um... well, Katy Perry... as long as we are still on the topic of Katy Perry's "waking up in Vegas", I must say that I heard the original album version of this song yesterday on a radio station for the first time, and... I'll just say that it will take some getting used to for me.

Now that I think of it, I think her vocals for that song would probably be better to me over a dance beat with some alternative elements in there, somewhat similar to how "hot & cold" was done. Any future dance promo remixes to come in general may be better to me than the original. I just couldn't get into the radio version at all yesterday.

For me personally, I must say when it comes to the singles released to radio, Katy Perry started out sounding very good to me, then started going downhill ever since. I liked "I kissed a girl" a lot (mostly when not played in mixshows), and I thought "hot & cold" was ok. After that, I couldn't get into anything else. She's probably her strongest at the alternative styled dance music and some slower groovy pop. I don't think I found any remix of "I kissed a girl" that sounded rhythmically better than the original. I cannot say the same for "hot & cold", and I'm waiting to see what type of remixes of "Waking up in Vegas" are eventually going to hit the streets, as I'm sure there will be some.

Calvin Harris, Manhattan Clique & Jason Nevins have remixed "Vegas".

Yes... I really like the remixes better! Probably should have just made the original album/radio version a dance styled hit to begin with. Katy Perry is talented, but not all of her well done songs are appealing. I think I like Halo and Bleeding Love more than the original "waking up in Vegas".

The jason Nevins mix is fantastic...I don't really care for the original but this remix gives the song life.

I must admit the chorus of this song is pretty much on point. The chorus is good in either original or remix, but the song in its entirety only sounds good to me as a dance remixed hit, which I still prefer way more than the original.

I finally got around to listening to this,, I thought at first that you guys where kinda mean to him, and abit rude, I wasnt gonna say anything as I thought, it cant be any worse than some of my home made mashups, but as Simon on idol would say, that was bloody horrible.... Work on it,, find some tracks that work well together, it was totally off key, ive heard 10 yr olds on youtube make better remixes..

Im not one to be mean,, but just giving some constructive criticism, I could only stomach 1 min and 20 secs of it, my ears are pouring blood...lol Do you have any other mixes you could work on and post???? For a beautifully done mashup, look up Enya VS prodigy-Smack up the Orinoco flow,, those songs are perfect together.. Dont get discouraged, just make sure its not a train wreck before you go public with it.....
