Here are 3 segments of the KATZ-AM and FM morning show from 1987. KATZ-FM 100.3 had a mainstream urban format, this was well before Clear Channel ownership. On my visits to St. Louis, I always thought that KATZ sounded good but a bit less polished than KMJM Majic 108 with its 100,000 watts.
It appears that during this period KATZ AM and FM simulcasted the morning program. I do have some other tapes of KATZ-AM during the same era with Blues and Urban Oldies programming in other dayparts.
