Buddy Rich died in 1987. I've got a feeling he may have been sparkin' up five decades before that.
Boy, has this thread been derailed...
Let me try to throw in some actual radio-related content: has anybody noticed the number of commercials popping up that are voiced by KGO personalities ... playing on KCBS?
Last Friday morning, spots voiced by Gene Burns (brandy) and Dr. Bill Wattenburg (window panes) ran back-to-back on KCBS. Within minutes, KCBS ran ads featuring Ed Baxter (Anderson's TV) and Len Tillem (Duxiana beds).
Heck, KGO may be reaching more listeners in its coveted 25-54 age group via ads on KCBS than it is with programs on its own frequency... :-*
