KAVV "Cave FM" Streaming

All compliments are appreciated, of course.
Here are a few things that make the Benson station unique:
1) The classic country music format is one of a kind. All of the programming is locally produced and only the national news comes from a satellite. CAVE copies nobody and nobody copies CAVE.

2) Live personalities on the air seven days a week between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. I don't think any station in Tucson does that.

3) No new Manager or Program Director in 30 years. All of our air talent have been with us at least ten years and some for twenty.

4) Nobody has been fired in years.

5) The most recent Cochise County book shows us in fourth place (12+) out of about 25 stations including many from Tucson.

No corporate office needs to approve of what we do.
We're not making money but we all enjoy radio.

please add some 80's to the playlist, Dan Seals, Alabama, Janie Frickie, Reba, those are great artist and the guys back east that run Kiim fm hardly play them anymore, please, please, please, you have got to be getting close to getting out of your age demo by now, and i miss the 80's, i would be extremely grateful. thank you!

Ha ha, I guess I was the last one you fired, huh, Paul? Or did I quit? So damned long ago I don't remember. Only thing I'd like to add, if possible is to process it before you stream it. Still not bad, but sounds like it's running straight through the board and the volume levels bounce up and down. No new manager or Program Director in 30 years....well that's a no brainer since you are the owner AND PD of the station.

if the cave is a classic country station, why do they play currents? Hunter Hayes, and others. im not griping, i actually like it, they should bill themselves as mainstream instead of classic, seeing how they play a number of different artist throughout the 70's, 80's, 90's, and today.

I might as well respond to some comments: There are over 3,000 songs on our playlist including a few by Ernest Tubb that go back to the 1940s.
We play hundreds of country songs from the 1980s including 31 of Alabama's biggest, 17 by Janie Fricke and 26 from Reba. It may take awhile before your favorites come up but they will. To freshen the sound a bit and also to pick up a few younger listeners we play about thee new songs per hour. And we try to steer away from the new "country" that sounds more like rock.

I think that the big stations could easily afford to have live people on the air if they had some stability and offered some job security. People will gladly work for less if they know that they aren't going to lose their jobs the next time a new manager walks through the revolving door or just because the ratings went down a point.
