KAZG on the air at 6:20 a.m.!

;D ;DRadiogay says Lumberyard 1440 with Dr. Steve 1970's oldies station ;D ;D

Thanks to the rest of you, this sillly thread now has reached
100 replies...and counting. 8)

Just dropped in to see what condition Lumberyard 1440's
condition is in since it's now June with a "broadcast day"
of 0515-1945. KAZG cut the carrier in mid-song--and
still sans ID--at 1945:18.

And you'll all (well, most of you) be pleased to hear that
just afterwards I checked 1060 and 1100 and both were
on their night patterns.

And I happened to be listening this morning, and they came on, music in progress, at 0515:22 and the jingle ID followed at 0517:35 (+/- 10 seconds). Not bad for someone who used to be pretty careless.

Was there an actual legal ID ("KAZG Scottsdale") in the jingle?

Even if it was a legal, it was still approx. 2:00 after sign-on, so
they are still not IDing when they come on (and go off) the air.

As Guy Marks would say...."Loving You (KAZG) Has Made Me Bananas". The Nurse and I are amazed so much bandwidth has been wasted on the Valley's last daytime only station. Keep it up! Lumberyard 14~Forty Rules...MST Drools.

It's the lumberyard, it's OK,
Sleep all night and it spikes all day,
They cut down trees,
They wear high heels,
Gumpdusky in a bra.

Since I was awake, I tuned in. KAZG came on the air at 0514:08 with music in progress (what else?).

The jingle ID (sans Scottsdale) was at 05:16:01.

Dunno about the record, but the Nurse and I will do everything possible to get this thread to top 5,000 replies! We drove by the Lumberyard the other day in our '76 Gremlin Levis' Special and thought how spiffy that tower would look with the KAZG call letters on it! We doubt Gumpdusky would do it as some of those cell towers would have to be removed and there'd go the revenue.

Sandusky Radio need to move the KAZG 1440 tower from the Lumberyard in Scottsdale to 75th Ave and Southern on the Northeast side.

Need to upgrade from Class D to Class A with 50,000 watts daytime/nighttime clear channel and move the frequency from 1440 to 1660 AM.

Move the Phoenix Coyotes games and talk programming from KDUS 1060 AM to KAZG 50,000 watts 1660 AM.

Did you mean the Northeast corner of the intersection of 75th Ave and Southern?

Because in no way, shape, or form is 75th Ave and Southern considered the Northeast side of town.

There is the desert on 75th Avenue and Southern Rd on the Northeast corner in the West Valley. Might be a good spot to put the KAZG tower there.

How does the Lumberyard stay in bidniss with a Home Depot and Lowe's five miles away? And how does 14~Forty stay in bidniss without Gumpdusky's deep pockets?

Yo, dude! While you may just be playing with our head (have we really figured
that out yet? ;D)...but if not, there are a few things to know.

A station can't just raise power to 50 gallons on its own whim (previous late-night
headbanger show at KFNX excepted ::)).

1660 is not a clear-channel frequency, it's in the X-Band and thus is limited to
10 kw-D, 1 kw-N--at least the last time I checked. No blowtorches.

The easiest thing in your wish list to get through the FCC bureaucracy just might
be moving the tower site (subject to other factors), but better hope no one finds
a burrow of spotted owls at 75th Ave. & Southern.

This morning, July 10th, they didn't fire up until 05:56:20. Somebody must have overslept. Or the timer is really failing.

Tonight they were off at 7:45. Wonder what tomorrow morning will bring?

Wow, thank God this thread got brought back from the dead. I believe I'll propose a "who gives a damn" page to the fine folks at radio-info, so that this nonsense can go there. I mean at some point, you've just got to give it up.

Geez, would you say the same thing if the thread was about the late, great...
...Magic 94 in Tucson? ;D

Hey, anyone seen Akbar lately? Should we put out an APB with the Milpitas PD?
