Also KKDV used to simulcast KUIC Vacaville/Fairfield. I doubt KUIC would flip to country because the Vacaville area could get access to KNCI Sacramento given that it's radio signal reaches Vacaville, and Dixon well. Also Sacramento area radio stations sometimes put billboards in the Vacaville and Dixon areas.Wonder if KKDV's sister station KKIQ in Liversnore will simulcast too sometime in the future. KKDV used to simulcast KKIQ.
And for a couple of months there's 2 Country stations in the Bay Area.
Seems obvious to me that also flipping 92.7 to a simulcast is Alpha Media's way of dealing (at least in part) with that issue. It does miss all the northern market market counties of San Francisco, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Solano and Sonoma either entirely or significantly. That is about 35% of the total market population, but when you include shadow areas in the hills and valleys of the East Bay counties, it is more like 40% to 45% that don't have a good in-car and indoor signal.
They can't use 92.7 as they are at their SF market cap with KBAY, KEZR, KKDV, KKIQ, and KUICSeems obvious to me that also flipping 92.7 to a simulcast is Alpha Media's way of dealing (at least in part) with that issue.
Funny ... with all the discussion we had previously about who might fill the hole, none of us considered Alpha Media. Maybe we'd better pay closer attention to that multi-market owner in the future.
KNCI receives no monetary benefit from listeners who reside in Solano County as their listening would be included only in the SF ratings. The billboards are probably geared for the traveling Sacramento listeners. Also KKDV used to simulcast KUIC Vacaville/Fairfield. Doubt that KKIQ would do the same at this time too.
LMA's count against market caps. That's why Clear Channel had to end the LMA's with several Tijuana stations that served San Diego... it put them over the cap.The icing on the cake would be for Alpha Media to lease KREV from Ed Stolz for a third Country signal. But that would be swimming with a shark. I'm sure they are smart enough not to do that.
The signal of KKDV basically only covers Contra Costa county. Would that still be factored into a market cap for San Francisco and San Jose? Or is it because Contra Costa county is considered part of the San Francisco market.LMA's count against market caps. Yes, it is licensed in the market and it counts. The signal of KKDV basically only covers Contra Costa county. Would that still be factored into a market cap for San Francisco and San Jose? Or is it because Contra Costa county is considered part of the San Francisco market.
True too!KNCI receives no monetary benefit from listeners who reside in Solano County as their listening would be included only in the SF ratings. The billboards are probably geared for the traveling Sacramento listeners.
Okay, I see where I confused things. I meant to type 92.1 and somehow it came out 92.7 ... 🙄They can't use 92.7 as they are at their SF market cap with KBAY, KEZR, KKDV, KKIQ, and KUIC
That logo looks stupid and looks like it was created by MS Word using shapes, color fill ins and a cute font.“Bay Country” is an appealing name that reflects the Bay Area. And it doesn’t sound too corporate as well. What needs to be worked on is the current logo which doesn’t reflect about country music. Red and blue B shaped logo? Not sure if it’s temporary since their missing the frequencies in the logo. Plus the website needs to be worked on as well. Got to create a design that works for country and the Bay Area. Something like the former Big 103.7 logo.
Tried to go to their website but I see nothing.

I was thinking an Airline logo on a 747 or 777 at first when I saw the Bay Country logo. Yes I mean if both United Airlines merged with Philippine Airlines if you did not see the Bay Country words attached to it.That logo looks stupid and looks like it was created by MS Word using shapes, color fill ins and a cute font.
It almost looks like something you would see on the side of a freight truck.
