KBAY is awful compared to 95.3 KRTY

Unfortunately, I can not get Kat Country in the south Bay, no matter how much I try to DX it.
On 103.3, there are two stations that compete
Santa Clara University's KSCU being more dominant, but when that signal degrades, as I move further south to 87/85, another station can be heard (most likely a LP translator serving the central coast or Los Gatos -Saratoga area). It certainly is not country..LOL.
I'm sure if I go up to the top of mount Umunhum, most of these valley country stations would come in loud and clear.
Lets face it, they have better country stations in the Valley, than we have here in the bay area. Even KTOM and KFGY is way better than KBAY.
Would I like it if KRTY came back, HELL YEA!!!
As someone has said above, country music is hostile in the bay area.
Lastly, I'm not a huge fan of "today's hip hop style country", but I do appreciate the older stuff.

As a DX nut, that's no fun.
Sure, I can stream "any" country radio station from my mobile device to my car radio, but what's the fun in that, DX wise
KBAY is not cutting it, and I'm not talking about the signal. I live less than 2 miles from the transmitter site. I can see the white blinking light every night. I remember when 94.5 was KWSS back in the day.
What the bay area needs is a country radio station like KRTY / KNTY / KSKS / KKUB / KATM all mixed in one.
Lastly, I have almost given up listening to local bay area radio period, because of how bad it is. 85% of the time, I just pull out the ipod. When I leave the area, and get out on the open road, its amazing how good some radio staions are, once you leave the bay area.

I've noticed the co-channel interference between KSCU and Kat Country, when driving in Fremont and the eastern San Jose foothills. From experience, the best places to receive KSCU outside the immediate vicinity of the SCU campus is roughly between Penitencia Creek Road and CA-237.

The other station on 103.3 is K277CH in San Francisco, a 99-watt repeater of Livermore's KLVS 107.3, the local K-Love Christian music network affiliate.

From the day it was created, KSCU was never intended to broadcast beyond Santa Clara city limits.
 
More impressive to me is WKMK earning a 0.9 share in the New York book despite being available OTA to only a small percentage of the market.

Its share has bounced between 0.5 and 0.9 since January. That's a wobble, not a trend. It's being listened to by a small group of people in certain suburbs, most likely the same people who've been fans of the station for more than a year.

The problem is that there is a pirate on 106.3 in Brooklyn.I live in Midwood Brooklyn and can get it at home but not always in the car.
