KBBT's HD Signal power

Has the HD power been decreased for any reason? KBBT's HD signal seems to be the weakest out of all the San antonio HD stations right now. Any reason why? It sounds very good in HD. The Power's HD is very anoying with that delay in it.

You comment on that "delay issue" a lot. AFAIK, the delay is caused by buffering as the digital transmitter and processing equipment queue up the audio packets to send them out through the digital transmitter. My guess is that the stations with minimal delay are actually adding a delay to their analog signal to make it arrive at our radios at the same time as the digital signal. I can understand why a station would prefer not to go to the expense and hassle of adding delay to the analog audio.

Maybe some of the folks here with more direct knowledge than I have can enlighten us.

What I mean on the delay part, was that the audio of the station on the analog signal is 5 secounds or so ahead of the digital. If the digital drops out some then the audio comes in about 4-5 secounds ahead of the digital signal. I know about how it buffers in, but when it does buffer in, the audio is delayed. Most of Austin's stations are fixed, KKBQ in Houston has that problem also.

The digital signal takes about 8.1 seconds to process, so an identical delay is put on the analog signals so that, should HD reception drop out, the analog replaces it and they are perfectly synchronized.

Not Power 1067 or majic 1053 they and 107.5 They all have delays, 101.9 has delays also, 101.9 use to be perfectly synchronized.

mhh, Sometimes, those 8.1 seconds seem like an eternity (while trying to quickly get to the subchannels), and sometimes, they go by fast :(.

KBBT's HD is one of the only 3 HD channels I have been able to lock over here at the Brazos Valley. I did notice that it was a way weaker than KPWT and KXTN's HD though. I wasn't able to lock it in for no longer than 15 seconds, while I can lock in KXTN and KPWT for a good 2 minutes without dorping the HD signal.
