This was a traditional country station when we travelled thru there years ago. Not too long ago I had someone record for me the station and it seemed homogonized into a broader spectrum of country and did not sound the same. We live in Illinois so would like some comments.
 
KBEC is either in the progress of being sold or has sold to new owners after being in the same family for many years. The result may be the new sound you have heard.

The music programming is not why folks in Ellis County listen to KBEC. It is because the non music programming is local, Local, LOCAL!!! That is why they do so well. The new owner is in Waxahachie (local) and none of the above will change. He isn't going to "fix" something that isn't broken and making money.
