KBIB's been around on 1000 AM ever since I can remember.
Who runs it? The programming has always sounded kind of like old time Spanish Christian radio. Will it ever change?

KBIB is run by Hispanic Community College in Marion ..

Can't find much on Google. I guess this is a Christian college or something, though the people on the air don't sound college aged to me. But then again I never listen.

Is that the name of a Federally, and State funded college? How can they get away with calling themselves that?

But KBIB has been around since the 80's. I never listened to it. KDRY AM 1100 is the only station I have listened to with a Christian format, but to test out the sound of the AM tuner when adjusting the peak levels of my tape deck when recording off AM radio. That is the one with a lot of static.

I can't find the school on the web. Perhaps the school was a dream of the founder. I did see some records of a "company" called Hispanic Community College, so it's likely privately held.

I was searching Dun & Bradstreet and it is a Domestic Non Profit Corporation, I am assuming it is privately held. File date was November 28, 1983. That would put KBIB-AM's launch around that time.

KBIB is 30 years old come November.

The website for this 250-watt directional daytimer starts off with, "KBIB, es la empresa misionera más importante jamás antes construída en San Antonio y hoy es una de las más importantes en el mundo entero."

That translates to, "KBIB is the most important missiorary enterprise ever built in San Antonio and today is one of the most important in the entire world."

Someone's a little full of themselves.

PS-- Last updated June 2010. No mention of the community college. I guess it's just the name of the licensee.

LOL, at least they're legal as far as I know, unlike many of the other Christian spanish channels.

Lakewood Church has more of a following than that of KBIB.

I guess this Hispanic Community College doesn't offer any form of computer courses, since the website was last updated almost 3 years ago.

These days one can't receive higher education and be able to put it to use without computers.
Soon the computer will do anything it's all automation. Heck computers will soon be driving for us thanks to Google.
