What's up?

I can't seem to get KBIG HD and I know it ain't my radio or the Attaena!

It hasn't been working for almost two weeks. Yesterday, it came back up but then around 3pm, it went back down. Cristian Wheel says the engineers are working on it.

There was a technical problem with two LA stations using one specific manufacturer's HD exciter which caused problems to a second adjacent station in the same LA Metro... when this was reported to the Clear Channel engineering department, they immediately shut off HD and began working with the vendor to fix the issue which is not an HD Radio / IBOC one, but a quirk in that one supplier's hardware.

So how long will they be down?

I guess until BE produces a fix... I don't know anything except that they are not interfereing with other stations any more.

So these stations that had interferance with KBIG, are they hd stations?

As I said, two HD stations in LA using the same brand of equipment were interfering with second adjacent channel stations also licensed to the LA market area. It does not matter if the stations being interferred with are HD or not; the HD on the two stations with defective equipment were outside the required bandwidth for HD and they shut off the exciters and sent them back to the manufacturer for modifications.

I didn't notice another HD station off. Which was it?

KCBS-FM... it is fixed and back. KBIG is getting a new FXi 250 exciter.
