KBIS 1160 to "Magic 1160" Today

KBIS, according to the Dallas Morning News, will launch today at 10 AM with all-Mowtown, all-the-time as a stunt until a new format begins later this summer.

What's Mowtown?

Sounds like an informercial for mowers.

Well, did it happen? Guess this is the official end of the old 1150 facility after what, 45 years?

Yeah guess so - I guess 1150's glory years was simulcasting KVIL-FM in the 70's and 80's. Besides that did it feature anything notable?

Looking at Radio Locator - is KBIS 1K night pattern broadcasting from a different site than the 20K daytime pattern? How many DFW AM stations have separare day/night sites? 1190 for starters.

1540 used to have separate sites back in mid 80's. Daytime was from Grand Priarie (it still is) and night time was from Kennedale. Nowdays, the Grand Prairie site is in use 24 hours a day.

I cannot think of any others with dual sites at the moment.

1160 sounds better than 620 does. Both stations are running IBOC.
