I don't know if any here have read the FCC's notice of a hearing regarding Terry Keith Hammond's station, KBKH, and his attempt to get the station's license renewed but it reads like a rap sheet of everything a station owner shouldn't do to stay on the air. The worst is lying to the FCC about a felony conviction, which he apparently has done. But that is just the start.
It seems fairly certain that Mr. Hammond, who used to contribute to this board, will lose his station. Even if the FCC grants him a renewal, he faces a six-figure fine and something tells me he doesn't have the scratch to cover it. I'm not sure if the fine is set at 325K or if it's 325K per each violation but if it is the latter he faces almost a million in fines.
Whatever the case, let this be a cautionary tale.
