Happy Trails...God Bless!

As you may have noticed, the "Kenn and Jenn Show" is not on the air on 96.5 KBKO. The station is making a change, a new show is set to debut on August 13th.

On behalf of Jenn and I, we want to thank all of our amazing listeners who have made our time in the morning the best time of every day for us! You truly made getting up early worth it!

Jenn will be moving on to a new challenge, and I have been named Program Diretor for the radio station, which means you won't be rid of me just yet!

Again...thank you guys so much for being a part of our world!

Kenn

Any thoughts?

Wow...the LAST thing that station needs is more change. Jenn is no loss frankly, she was self-centered and annoying (a new version of KGFM's Rachel?)...but Kenn has established himself as one of the best morning talents in town now on two different stations. My question...WHO is going to scoop him up first?

KKXXeffect,

[EDIT] Call me crazy but the guy is boring and should have been taken off the air when his first show failed. Where did he get that bullet proof vest by the way, did his wife buy it for him? I do agree about Jenn, the girl was obnoxious. Hopefully the new show and Ken's leadership will turn the station around, if not they will have to find another job for him on Mohawk and I am pretty sure the janitorial position is taken. =+)

[EDIT-vulgar and offensive content]

The janitorial position may be taken, but maybe some of the management positions shouldn't be.

If I were running the Breeze, I'd dump whoever they have and go after Kenn.

Love to see the professionalism, and jealousy. As an AE that is on the streets everyday, I hear what clients say about stations. Plus, I've been in the market long enough to know that while KBKO's show may not have been one for you, it probably wasn't aimed at you to begin with. I can tell you, Kenn's reputation (as well as his wife's) is impeccable. I've met Kenn, and haven't met a nicer, more professional jock in town, with no ego or attitude. Plus everyone who I've talked to that worked with him, or for him have nothing but great things to say. I'm just sorry another VERY GOOD local air talent is taken off the air, and replaced with a cheaper, out-of-town, voice-tracked show talking about Paris Hilton instead of Trouts, Dewars and the Condors. I hope Kenn doesn't like being in an office and finds a company here in Bako that wants him in a studio.

And they've found a replacement...The Big D and Bubba Show

Starting Monday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE BIG D AND BUBBA SHOW JOINS KBKO BAKERSFIELD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., August, 9, 2007 – Debuting Monday, August 13, Premiere Radio Networks’ The Big D and Bubba Show will join the lineup at Bakersfield’s KBKO in the
5 - 9 a.m. PST weekday morning slot.
Steve King, KBKO’s Operations Manager said, “Big D and Bubba are real people, who are willing to go the extra mile to make every listener special. We are proud to welcome Big D and Bubba to Bakersfield. When I grow up, I want to be just like them.”
Syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks, The Big D and Bubba Show is based in Nashville, Tenn. The family-oriented show was originally made popular by their homespun local approach and “candid phone calls.” Requests from fans, including comedians, entertainers and Country music artists, poured in for copies of the humorous calls. In addition, fans enjoy interviews and live performances with Country music’s biggest names. The Big D and Bubba Show airs weekday mornings on 38 Country radio stations nationwide.

IM not a country music fan, but I know talent when I see and hear it. I worked with Kenn In Albuquerque (Sunny 951 & I was at KKSS 973 Kiss fm)circa 1999-2001 and CC Bakersfield (Kenn @ K-lite and I was at KKXX 96.5 Kiss fm)... Hes a great guy personally and talented. No negative words should ever be said about thi s man. Hes very local as any of us here... Kenn you get my thumbs up doing your thing playboy.... Keep the CCHS alive.. LOL
Respect
::)Alex G! ::)

If KGFM was smart, they'd dump Dean and replace him with Kenn. Dean has never proven himself to have any talent. Kenn is by far one of the most talented morning guys in the market and he is very involved in the community. What has Dean done in the community? Does anyone even know him in the community? Not everyone aspires to go to a bigger market. Take a look at the bigger markets. Who's having fun? Bako is a great place to raise a family and have a successful career. Where would K-Lite be today if the suits at CC not flipped it? He was winning with K-Kite. Kenn has the talent, but some decisions are out of his hands.
