KBKS New Look and Sound: Opinions?

Got a chance to listen to KBKS a bit after hearing they changed it up a bit. Am not a big CHR listener anymore, but to my ear it sounds a bit more rythmic. Remixed versions of Fergie Gwen along with more old school like Sir Mix Alot Ice Cube Nortourious BIG etc. Is this a shift toward MOVIN and KUBE? Still hear some rock based stuff but it ain't what it used to be. Morning show seems to be all talk now. Heard two songs only in one hour last week. Must be da plan aiming toward T-Man, not sure J@B got the talent to pull that off. New imaging and voice stuff is right off the graphics page of KISS LA and KISS Dallas. For this cowboys unschooled money, it all sounds better except mornings. Who does this move hurt? WOLF is ruling 18-34 and I think this will help them. Might hurt KUBE and MOVin a bit. Seems kinda a nuthin change in some ways

May I quote the late Johnny Cochran.

"Who am I? Im Johnny Cochran. What if I put on this black hat? Who am I now? Im Johnny Cochran in a black hat!"

Its a reimagaing. Thats it. New logo. New website address. New voice guy. New jinlges. Thats it. Nothing more.

Definition of a radio station consultant:
=============================
-Comes into the station and asks to see ALL wallets..

--Station goons hand the wallets to the Consultant...

---Consultant takes all the cash and credit cards...

...then tells the radio station how much money was in the wallets.

Good point major. And what advice did he/she give? "Hey just mention the word KISS after instead of before the frequency and play Fergie and Plain White T's every other hour." That'll do the trick.

Who did the jingles?

I haven't heard much, but the jingles sounded like the ReelWorld KIIS package. V/O guy sounded a lot like Dave Kampel (Z100, WKSC) but I could be mistaken. Couldn't identify the female voice.

KBKS had the worst Trend and will have, if that is possible, a worse book than they did in Spring. 25-54 the morning show didn't even show up cowboys, really! The changes you hear will be reworked completely when Steve Rivers arrives. He will look like a hero if he just cleans up the freekin music and automates mornings, after this last trend. I feel bad for KBKS cause there are some nice people workin there, but this last trend had the station on par with Olympia signals. KNBQ, the third Country beat KBKS in every significant daypart. The big changes are yet to come.

I rarely say this, but KBKS will probably get a big change. The hiring of a big name Programmer in Steve Rivers will not mean business as usual. On a four book the station is in free fall with the August trend the worst in a string of bad trends. I suspect major changes are coming, but I can't imagine a format flip. Mainstream CHR wins in many markets and probably will succeed in Seattle with some music, imaging and staff changes. I always look at the four book and for KBKS, the ratings do tell the story.

Nail, meet head.

Kiss doesn't need a format change. They need to do better with what they already do right now.

For many reasons, they need to look at their air staff.

Unless Kiss goes entirely rhythmic, KUBE will be fine. If Kiss simply fine-tunes what they already have, it's Movin' (mostly) and KPLZ (to a slightly lesser degree) that will need to look over their shoulders.
