KBKS to Jammin

I'm not a CHR guy but you got to wonder what Marcus D and Preston are thinking with the moves at the KBKS Ranch posted in this board assuming its true ???

Do you think that maybe KISS is about to become Jammin Seattle and take on KUBE head-on with the Morning Playhouse in both markets since tis all CBS cowboy owned. The
KISS approach never really hit it running in Seattle and the 90's style J@B show might be better suited for JACK :-\ Morning Playhouse would be better than T-MAN and KISS/Jammin could be more current than KUBE. Kind of like the WOLF did to KMPS. KMPS ended up goin old, WOLF got the young ones and both are top ten 25-54 and makin money ::)

Plus CBS can syndicate the format and Playhouse up and down the West Coast now that Marcus D is in SF. Hmmmmmmm this cowboy wonders if Movin SF, Movin PDX and KISS
Seattle are about to jammmmmmmmmmm. Just speculatin

Unlikely scenario in my humble opinion. Seattle would be without a Mainstream CHR, a significant format parameter. Syndicating the Playhouse may make some sense to provide a young approach and challenge T-Man but a full format change is not likely. Playhouse would also be a good financial move though I doubt J@B are very expensive. Much like Kent and Alan or Ichabod they survive in part because they are cheap shows. The Playhouse in SF would fail, much like the T-Man. The market has two rhythmic CHR's already with similar local shows. The T-Man is also there getting killed. Seattle makes sense because of weak talent in the format parameter. I can say, with some authority, that SF has different issues with Alice and Movin. In fact, Mainstream CHR is the missing format parameter in the Bay area.

As mamma predicted in PDX. More surprises to come in Seattle. Stay tuned cause it is all ya ya good.

Seattle already has Movin 92.5 Why the hell would they sacrifice a mainstream CHR for another syndicated format? mamma, your argument was shot down in the PDX board. Wouldn't put much faith into this.

Hey Radio Professor, you're a joke...every time you post I always show the people in my office and we all have a good laugh. Do you mind if we expose to the board who you are? :)

No kidding - we also gather in my office (which has a nice view of the EMP, BTW) then log on to this board and laugh our butts off. It's really therapeutic! :)

Since when is 500K between J&B CHEAP???? And that was the salary a fews years back! If that is your idea of a morning show on the cheap side, can I borrow a dollar? :)

Anyways. MOViN was a flat out FAILURE in PDX. Thus, why its gone. Id say the next to go is L.A. They have already trimmed the fat as much as possible to keep affording Dee's. Allan Burns is probably brewing up another snake oil format to start selling after MOViN has fell flat accross the country.
