KBRN 1500 Boerne playing oldies

GaryO, we LOVE the oldies that you are playing and are ONLY listening to KBRN now. If you do change formats for some reason, can you leave some time to have the oldies played? We would really like that, and we are not the only ones in Boerne who think this way.

Congratulations? I mean, it should've been doing that all along.

BTW, for non-Texan readers to this thread, when you read KBRN's COL in your head and think "born", you think wrong...

You probably caught all the furriners off guard... but anyone who has enjoyed the gateway to the hill country says BURN-nee.

And how do you find "Bear" county on a map?

Ha! Well played, David! The granddaddy of them all, however, is up in Central Texas, so often mispronounced, that it is the town's motto. "It's a great place to live, no matter how you say it!", Around 8k people do just that. The largest populous in Limestone County: Mexia.

I grew up knowing it as muh-hey-ya, but most locals pronounce it as muh-hare. Given 104-9 left town for the greener grasses in Waco, and 1590 hasn't seen much mention around here in...well...ever, we don't come across that constantly mispronounced little gem very often.

Very good David, in fact Real good...as in Ree-ahl County where the County Seat is Lay-key versus Leakey, not that far from BURN-ee or BURN-it or Burnet, Texas. Purple, Mexia is mispronounced a bunch and then there is Quitique, Texas that would stump me although I recall locals call it "Kitty-Q" with the Q pronounced just like the letter Q or Mobeetie, Texas.

On March 1, 2017 KBRN went silent once again. The owner/licensee is looking to lease the tower and get local radio back in the community, if anyone/broadcasting company is interested.

KBRN back to simulcasting KEDA again. Tejano music for a community that does not have a large Hispanic population??

Sounds like to me KBRN needs to get something on the air now and KEDA was okay with them rebroadcasting their signal. Expect that to change. In fact, it might just be that KEDA's engineer is also KBRN's engineer.
