KBRO 1490 AND KTW 1250 QUESTION

Hey Guys:

Again thanks for all of your help on these questions.

I was hoping you all can help me with these 3 questions:

1. What was KBRO 1490's format in the 60's? I know it was MOR in the 70's.

2. Does anybody know what KTW's format was before they went Top 40 on Aug 1st, 1964?

3. Did KTW 102.5 Simulcast 1250's Country nashville's sounds format?

Thanks again

KBRO had MOR for a long time. They went more pop by the mid-'80s and country in 1989.

KTW was religious before Top 40.

KTW-FM never simulcasted the country format of AM. I believe they went back to religious music.

I remember KBRO-1490 in the late 70's spinning vinyl MOR and calling themselves: 'Puget Sound West'

A young 'Dennis Bragg' first started there in news at 21, now the news director at KPAX-TV Missoula, Montana

." Does anybody know what KTW's format was before they went Top 40 on Aug 1st, 1964?

3. Did KTW 102.5 Simulcast 1250's Country nashville's sounds format?:

Contrary to what Bong says KTW AM was beautiful music until the change to Top 40 except on Sunday when they had a bunch of religious block programing. KTW-FM was simulcast with KTW AM with top 40 when they switched to the Nashville Sound format. The Country format was simulcast on KTW AM/FM under the ownership of David M. Seigel who bought the station in July, 1964.

I will admit all my information for stations in the '60s comes second hand because first, I didn't own a radio back in '64. There's a good reason for that. I wasn't even born yet........

Hmmm. Using the old I wasn't born yet excuse....I like it!
