KBSG PD OUT!

KBSG'S stellar 18th place 25-54 ratings have resulted in the firing of Program Director Jay Coffey. No replacement named. Format flip to follow...

Maybe Jay should have played the RIGHT oldies ;)

KIRO-FM, yeah baby. Bring it on.

Of course, we may all be surprised when KBSG brings in another programmer to continue the oldies tradition. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

But, more likely, yes, a KIRO-FM simulcast. The new VP/Programming (from KSL Salt Lake) is a "tell". KSL is running their format on AM and FM in SLC, and in the past year has gone to a younger-driven lifestyle approach after 7pm. (However, I really question how many 18-34's are listening to radio after 7pm, especially for talk...) Regardless, the next few months should be interesting.

??? Funny thing...I heard The Car's "Just what I needed" last Friday and thought there was a format change to classic rock....or to KJR-FM classic hits.....just what is going ON??

The station is noticeably better now that that prick Coffey is gone. What an overrated imbecile. I feel sorry for the next station that has to suffer his idiotic programming decisions. Hey Bonnevile, check out K-Hits 106.7 FM in Portland, Oregon! THAT is exactly what KBSG should sound like!
