Found this on RadioLocator: KBSZ has a CP to move to Mesa (COL Apache Junction), running 320 watts days and 50 watts nights, non-directional. The transmitter location is in NE Mesa near Usery Mountain Park. I don't know where the studio (if there is one) will be located, or the proposed format. It will also move from 1250 to 1260 kHz. The CP was granted on 3/13/08. Anybody have more details? This one is new to me.
Of course, this means that KASC, the ASU student station in Tempe, will have to move.
But why bother? I understand KBSZ, despite it's interesting format, had few listeners, even considering the size of Wickenburg, and the station was for sale. But why would they bother move to Mesa/AJ, with minimal coverage into Phoenix & Scottsdale during the day and none at night?
