KBTC

Since KBTC has a repeater for the NW corner of Washington State (Bellingham, Mt. Vernon, Anacortes) etc....Will Comcast able to put KBTC on cable north of Marysville to Canadian border.

I'm also wondering why Comcast doesn't run either of KBTC's HD channels. Very odd, when they're airing every other local station's HD channels. Some markets have 3 or 4 PBS affiliates, so having two on the air in W Washington State is not an excuse. Anyone know? I'd really like to see the international programming channel KBTC programs on its secondary HD service.

What is the procedure to get your audio stream on Comcast? Is it a service they provide or does the station pay?

Also, as for KBTC to be serve in the Lower Mainland / Vancouver Island area. SHAW has to relocate WTVS from analog teir into digital teir since CTRC only allows 2 PBS stations per market. Look at Montreal for example.

I don't see any reason why Comcast or any other system shouldn't make room for it - unless translators fall in the same category LPTV stations do. Bug 'em.

BTW: Only the main channel (28.1) is in HD. 28.2 (MHz Worldview) is in SD. In fact, KBTC had to bump off two other subchannels to accomodate full-blown 1080i. Personally, I'm dying to see the Monday Night Aussie Rules on MHz.

One more side note: because this is a direct off-air relay, there will be some times when we'll pay the price - loss of signal. Happened the other night during the windstorm.
