kbvo

I was able to lock in again on it last night it did break up some though KXAN or KNVA REALLY needs to put this on a sub channel.

What's your approximate location? Are you able to get K29HW-D, the new UT station on 29 with 750 watts from a lower transmitter site than KBVO-CD?

I'm on the northern side of Lockhart, I'm picking up 51-1 that locked in the presets.

My problem may be antenna orientation. From my location in south Austin I'm not aimed directly at the Westlake tower farm. I'm aimed just to the side in order to get a lock on KAKW in Bertram.

A family member who lives near Northwest Park is getting a good signal from K29HW, but is not getting a lock on KBVO-CD.

KBVO-CD must still be on the puny 75 watt transmitter, and hasn't made the authorized increase to 13.4kw. Still have no idea how jras is seeing it--must be in a hotspot for his directional antenna array.

OK gang...help me out here with the math and physics. :)

I'm familiar with an LPFM in Northwest Iowa that roars pretty well over its county with just 50 watts from a very modest stick, only about 150' HAAT.

I realize FM is just above lo-VHF and a band-to-band analogy with channel 51 isn't comparable. But most FMs in our region are 100 kW whereas the low-power digital U's are maxed at 15 kW and they do very well. Given KBVO's impressive 1138' HAAT, shouldn't a mere 75 watts still cover a significant part of the county?

Up here in North Texas, 300 watt KHPK-LD/3 bangs into my location 40 miles away on a tiny little Terk HDTVo antenna in the attic. Yes, 61.25 mHz (channel 3) is a different beast than 693.25 mHz (channel 51) and the power levels differ by 6 dB but I would *think* that the FCC's service contour map is a reasonable approximation but I could certainly be wrong:

Hmmm...lemme drag my 91XG down to Austin and I'll bet that beast would capture KBVO-CD! :)

Well not all the time I pick it up, most of the time at night I can pick it up. If I watch the channel mainly Friday nights I usually just use Direct TV.

Doesn't matter what bait I use ;D, no signal here at Steck and MoPac this evening.

In the last few days I was not been able to pull them in are they off the air on digital? My direct TV still has them on.
