Has anyone else had any problems with the HD signal from 97.9. I just bought an HD radio and to my surprise, KBXX played for like two seconds and then the it started to load the HD signal. THe problem is that it keeps buffering up the signal and it doesn't stop so I can't listen to it at all. I can't figure out how to turn off the HD either since it is built in, so any suggestion?
 
Yes, I have noticed the HD problem with 97-9.
Dave probably just needs to reboot the goofy Importer/Exporter and then all 327 HD radio owners (listeners) will be happy.

I'm having the same problem with my JVC in-dash HD in my car. It has the option to force the system to remain in analog, but you first must sync up the digital signal before you can change it. Really stupid design flaw that has left it impossible for me to tune in 97.9 at all until they fix whatever the problem with the HD signal is.
 
Yea, that's the same one I'm using, it tunes in for like 1 second and then it starts loading. Thats is a major Flaw. But oh well, you get what you pay for.

lol, well..I paid $379 for it since I got it as soon as it was released....and I think for that price I should be able to completely disable HD if I want to. Oh well, maybe they'll fix whatever is wrong with the signal.

I have the JVC KD-HDR1 and had the same problem on a recent trip to Houston. Very disappointing.

The little bit of The Box I did hear was on my portable radio sitting at Minute Maid. When did they dump the old voice for Pat Garrett? I don't dislike Pat, it's just that he is on in every market. The other guy was more unique and at times completely ridiculous and over-the-top (in a good way).

They've been using Pat for about a year now, IIRC. That's the same JVC model I have, but I'm pretty sure its not just our radios. KBXX-HD has worked fine for me up until about 3 weeks ago.
 
Well, it is back up now. I had gotten tired of turning on and off the radio and rapidly turning off the digital signal, thatr was the only was KBXX worked.
It still seems that the analog signal sounds a lot better than the digital signal. Is it just me because I've noticed this for all of Radio One's stations.

Nope, it's not just you...KBXX-HD sounds horrible now...sorta like a 96k MP3. It wasn't like this before it went down.
 
Now it's down again??? But at least I can now tune into the analog signal
 
You notice also sometimes the audio will cut out for less then a secound in analog? Its not really noticable, but its enough to hear it.
