KBXX went off the air last night

Did anyone notice that KBXX went off the air for a few last night, strange enough I heard the IBOC buzz in the background, but the analog was off the air.

What exactly does the "IBOC buzz" sound like? I have perfect hearing, but I've never heard it.

As for the main channel being off and the HD continuing to broadcast, that's entirely possible. In their install, it's probably a seperate transmitter.
 
mhh, that happened to KHMX once for about 30 minutes. The analog off, but the HD on.

That's good because i was DXing them all the way to Rio Grande City,TX two nights ago. Good thing that happened last night.
 
I cant hear it when the analog is on, but it was just a higher pitched sound constantly I heard it on 97.9 98.0, I can try to get a audio sample of it if you want I can post it either here or at the HD boards.

You must be pulling our leg, you can hear the digital? The digital carrier would sound like white noise. Do you know if the analog carrier was off or did they just have dead air?

Could be, I can send the sound that I heard see what ya'll think, I wont be able to do it untill tomarrow night.
