I've been listening to KBYO(92.7) out of Menrough LA online here in New York state for the past 5 hours, and I love them. Imagine that - a station that violates all the laws of what we radio geeks know as conventional radio. And, the mystery question is: What format are they suposed to be? One of the mysteries of our time.

Well, whatever they are, I love them.

You may be trying to say Mer Rouge, but the station is actually licensed to Farmerville

However according to their website, my guess is variety hits as they say on their site "Fun Radio” 92.7FM was birthed out of this same zest for life. Playing the best mix of the 80s, 90s, and today, the entire staff of “Fun "

But anyway, that's why I love small town radio for.. rules don't apply as heavily back in the sticks:)

Here's a "description," plucked from the station website:

Fun Radio is a collaboration of misfits that were told by the suits that they didn’t have any idea of how a REAL radio station should be run.

They have endured large egos, less talented bosses, that did not understand that a more talented jock is an ally, not a threat. A hodgepodge of type A, off the rail types, with one thing in common, we all LOVE radio and know that the power of it. We understand that the “magic” is lost in airing syndicated shows, and the same song 40 times a day.

He was trying to spell Monroe. That is the community they are trying to cover. They are different. We have another Gen X/Y station in town at 99.3 as well. I would put the two of them in the same category. Oddly, while 99.3 has a more consistent listening experience, 92.7 plays more songs that I like.
