KBZZ Drops Sports Gambling For Oldies

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/197381/kbzz-drops-sports-gambling-for-oldies/

Reno Media Group has flipped Sports Gambling “92.5 The Game” 1270 KBZZ Sparks/92.5 K223AL Reno NV to Oldies “Oldies 92.5“.

The move marks the second time K223AL has been branded as “Oldies 92.5” as the translator previously utilized the brand from September through December of 2015. The move creates a flanker to co-owned Classic Hits “103.7 The River” KODS.

Not really shocking to see that given the current state with Sports note some leagues are in their reopening phase but uncertainty remains.

The 92.5 translator probably isn't going to do much since it it's only at 131 ft height and doesn't cover the whole market...

But it covers more than 50% of the market within its 60 dbu contour. That certainly gives it a good supplement to the AM signal and they are listed as also having the 96.1 translator with fills in most of the rest of the market.

Covering 50% of the market isn't going to get you ratings...if the 96.1 translator covers the other 50%, that's better, but having to go back & forth between two translators is a PITA. I don't think it equals a full power FM.

What would you rather have, David Eduardo? Two translators each covering half of the market or a full power FM? That's what I thought....

The AM signal isn't good for anything but providing the programming for the translators..

i can regularly hear KBZZ-AM up here in rural central Alaska with my portable radio and a loop antenna
