KCBL 1340 vs KRDU 1130

Todays FSU game - Las Vegas. I had forgot to tune in until the game was over - about 10:45pm. On 1340, again I was surprised to hear a little bit of distant co-channel interference here just 10-12 miles from the KCBL tower. The interference would slowly rise and fall, but it was never really bad.
KRDU - also, like last week, KRDU was on top but not by much. You wouldn't want to listen for long.
Only today did I notice the Dodgers on 96.7

I noticed that also with 1340 and KRDU day time fair, night time bad, I think the dodgers should stay on 1340, Bulldogs on 96.7 with KRDU.

You wouldn't even need KRDU if the games were on 96.7 because of the 1400 simulcast. Where ever they put the games it's been nice not to hear audio dropouts that happened WAY too often on 940.

Left Japanese kitchen last Friday night and tuned into 1340 to listen it sounded just ok,went to my sons over by old town, left tuned into KRDU and actually thought it sounded much better.I’ll say this, KRDU sounds better in Clovis than 1340 sounds in Kingsburg and as a side note, for a 5K signal 1430 is just plain crap. Better off listening to the Giants on KNBR than KFIG.

And that's a shame. There are a ton of good quality portable radios to be had out there. Many of them with Bluetooth to use with your phone when you just can't find something you want to hear over the air.
Actually many smartphones have an FM chip built in and the headphones act as antenna (you can listen on headphones and on the speaker). Apple and some other purposely disabled the FM chip- wanting you to stream instead.

"Have" should be "had". Few of the current models have those chips and, of course, the last several generations of Apple iPhones have had no headphone jack.

David,
Actually quite a few still do. I just bought a Titan/Unihertz (it has a real physical keyboard) and it has FM radio. And it does RDS. No IBOC/HD.
I feel its important to have one in case of a disaster (earthquake. fire) , if the net and wifi go down, and I'm somewhere with no radio.
Apple and some of the carriers oppose it on the grounds they'd rather you stream and pay them...

I think the volume is set too low on KFIG, right after the frequency swap with KYNO I thought the Giants games never sounded better, but for the last couple of weeks it's been terrible. All of the other stations are MUCH louder.
