KCBS ALL NEWS 106.9 / 740

And loose all those talk shows?

That would be a waste especially because KCBS covers all of the KIFR service area and much more.

I haven't listend to FREE-FM in a couple of weeks, anythng new? I heard Tom Leykis while in Las Vegas and he is the same as 10 years ago except for his sandpaper voice.

Has Free-FM started to pick up any ratings like a 2.0 or more?

That is not the issue... it is sales demos. KCBS has revenue that is now 20% below that of the year 2000 and the demos are decidedly 55+. An FM simulcast would certainly help the 35-54 demos.

It could happen and the A's could be on 106.9.

IT'D BE NICE TO HAVE ALL NEWS ON 106.9

KCBS/740 is simulcast on 106.9 FM ... on the HD-2 multicast channel.

The A's ARE already on 106.9!

FREE FM IS A GOOD FORMAT FOR HD2

106.9
ALL NEWS, ALL THE TIME.

Ok you guys?
This thread is driving me nuts. Is KCBS on 106.9 or are you just suggesting that it should be? You need to be clear about these things. That subject line throws me way off.

I wonder if on KIFR-106.9 the "I" is going to be booted, and a big fat "C" is going to be dropped into place after the "FR" and a -FM added for good measure? Interesting? Yes?

This may make sense. Dan Mason, as a programmer, may have recognized both the value of the calls and the possibility that a "classic" oldies format has some life to it. I'm just guessing, but there is a franchise value to the calls and the heritage that can be monetized in the 35+ demos in the market.

I can't believe Dan has much faith in the Free FM concept, either.
