KCBS Has a Different Corner Bug

Starting with the 11 pm news last night, and continuing today, CBS 2's bug has changed. It's the same font and size, with "cbs2.com" underneath, but it is more yellow-gold (like the 2003-2007 pre-HD bug), and it continually pulsates with light. And it "collapses" and "re-assembles" at certain times--kind of a cool feature. I assume this is what the logo will look like when KCBS and KCAL adopt the "News Central" brand, whenever that happens. KCAL as yet has not changed its bug. I haven't seen any change in KCBS' L3s or any other graphics, so there's no way of knowing yet what changes the new branding will offer.
 
And yet another distraction on the TV screen. What is wrong with just the program. Or is it so bad that you can get away with anything and the viewers see that as an improvement.
